    Museum Guidelines

Museum Guidelines

  • We request you wear a mask for your safety. We disinfect surfaces and have provided hand sanitizer if you need. We are open for the public during this COVID 19. We follow the recommended safety precautions.

  • Consideration for Others

  • Although discussion in the museum is encouraged, please keep voices respectfully low. The museum is a place for looking, thinking, and quiet discussion. Mobile phones must be turned off while in the museum.

  • Other groups and individuals may wish to see the same objects that interest you. Please be aware of others waiting to view a particular work and be courteous about moving on promptly.

  • Respect for Museum Objects

  • Do not touch any of the objects in the museum. The invisible oil on your fingertips leaves a film on any surface touched. Over time, these marks attract dust and pollutants from the air, damaging and obscuring surfaces. Please refrain from pointing or gesturing when you are close to unprotected works of art.

    Photography

  • Except where noted, photography for personal use is allowed with hand-held cameras and with available light or digital flash attachments. Tripods and lights may not be used. Reproduction or sale of photographs is not allowed without museum permission.

    Food and Drink

  • Food (including gum and candy) and drinks are prohibited in the museum. Picnics are welcome in the gazebo area.

    Smoking

  • Smoking inside the museum is not allowed. You may smoke in designated areas outside the building. Please put your cigarette butts and ashes in the provided receptacles and not on the ground.

    Groups

  • Groups are welcome. Reservations are recommended, but not required.

The Museum reserves the right to refuse or dismiss any individual for misconduct.
